Chapter 2026
Our Congregation story is a story of hope. In the beginning, Jean Harper and four young women chose to follow the Way and bear witness to Hope through their lives, commitment to love, and trust in Providence. Our SASV story of believing, responding to needs, sharing the charism in the mission of education, which they began, dwells in us, like “Mary who kept all these things in her heart,” and strengthens us as we continue the story. Today, our lamps remain filled with the oil of his Presence and his Word, to live the newness of Hope.
Chapter Theme:
Witnesses to Hope, Follow the Way!
Spirit of Wisdom,
we are Witnesses to Hope seeking the clarity of your vision as we set out together on this Chapter journey filled with courageous hope and joy. Keep us grounded in the essence of our Assumption heart and receptive to the prophetic calls and encounters that invite us to risk newness.
Spirit of Discernment,
we seek your direction as we stand yet again at a crossroads and face challenging choices. Grace us with ancestral strength, a strength clothed in tenderness, as we embrace our vulnerability trusting that Providence is with us always.
Spirit of Truth,
we seek your inspiration as we walk by the light of our charism and discern how best to respond to the cries and lamentations of our broken world. Widen our hearts’ capacity for compassion that we may BE our mission of love and true Witnesses to Hope who Follow the Way.
Spirit of Life,
we seek your Presence as we enter this transformative time in the life of our Congregation. Draw us ever closer to Mary, Woman of the Way, as we listen deeply and ponder in our hearts the profound revelations along our own Assumption journey.
You will show us the path of life; in your presence is fullness of joy. (Ps.16:11)

We follow the Way with Mary,
the perfect disciple of Jesus, who gave her decisive “yes” to God. She started out on a journey of faith, without knowing the details of what was to come. And with her, we are called to live out this experience of faith, taking risks, opening ourselves to the new, passing through the dark night of uncertainty. And with Mary, we are invited to widen our hearts and place ourselves at the service of Hope.
